Gargle ice water: Try gargling with ice water for 15 minutes and see if that controls the bleeding. If not you should contact your surgeon and let him or her know.

Post tonsil issues: The tonsil bed usually has a whitish exudate that falls off with time. When it falls off naturally or is scraped off by good, some blood my be noticed. If the bleeding becomes constant or excessive seek medical attention. A small amount can be normal but if persists see your physician. If it is excessive after hours go to the nearest emergency room.
