Dry mouth foods: Dry mouth can occur for several reasons. It may be an indication that you have diabetes, and it is a sign that you are not producing enough saliva in your mouth to keep it clean. There are several foods that should be eaten and some to be avoided if you want to help your dry mouth improve. Do not eat anything spicy or salty. Sugarless is best.

Find out why: If you suffer from a dry mouth you should speak to your physician first. There are many medications and medical conditions that cause dry mouth. Often something can be done to reduce or eliminate this problem. I would recommend that as step #1. There are many "biotene" products to help control a dry mouth and you should ask your dentist if it would be appropriate in your particular situation.

Dry mouth: Avoid foods and drinks that are acidic or high in sugar. Chew xylitol gum or mints to stimulate saliva. Drink lots of water. See your doctor to find out the cause of your dry mouth and perhaps change medications.
