Xerostomia : Xerostomia is the feeling of having a dry mouth and can be caused by everything from anxiety to medication side-effects. It's important to know whether your parotid glands are producing enough saliva which may be the case with difficulty swallowing food. A special case of xerostomia is sjogren's syndrome, an autoimmune disorder that also affects the eyes. Blood tests can help determine the cause.
