Breastfeeding : Nursing immediately after birth, baby receives colostrum rich in protein & antibodies. At this stage, baby is just learning to suck the correct way. After 3 days, transitional milk flows - rich in fat & lactose.After 7 days, mature milk comes in - largely water but also includes carbohydrates, proteins and fat. Baby sucks better, regains birth weight and continues further weight gain.
