A member asked:

I was diagnosed with bursitis in my left hip about 3 years ago. over time it has got worse, to the point of, trouble standing up after sitting.?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Rehab + injection: You are likely referring to trochanteric bursitis which causes pain on the outside of the hip and occasionally down the outside of the thigh. It often is associated with gluteus medius tendonitis. Physical therapy to reduce inflammation, stretch the lateral hip soft tissues and strengthen the core and gluteal muscles is often helpful. Steroid and/or prp injections are often part of my treatment.
