Shouldn't wear: I tell most of my patients who have dentures, that they should not wear them while sleeping because the tissue need a chance to recover, rest and breathe. Now if there is some type of tmj/tmd issue or if they are embarrassed to sleep without, then that's another problem. If they insist, then have them place denture adhesive in the dentures prior to bed or get better fitting ones.

Leave them out: It is not recommended to wear dentures while sleeping. The dentures should be removed and left in water while you sleep. It would be very difficult to swallow a full set of dentures.

See a dentist: Do not wear those dentures anymore and see a dentist asap to redesign or tighten the denture.

Take Them Out: Dentures should not be worn while sleeping. This is quite aggravating to the gums, accelerates jaw bone loss, and increases risk for fungal infections. The gums need a break...Imagine how your feet would feel if you slept in your shoes every night.
