Anemia: Need to find: Out cause. Hemoglobin level below 10 gm% is the definition of anemia but that does not tell why a person has anemia. It would be important to find the cause to institute proper treatment. Normal red cell count with low hb means red cells are smaller than normal. The usual causes for that are iron deficiency and beta thalassemia trait. Please discuss the matter with your doctor.

Anemia: Low hemoglobin and hematocrit indicate anemia. The normal rbc count suggests a type of thalassemia. In thalassemia, the MCV (size of cells) is low-the cells are small. I suggest you discuss the results with your doctor, or that you see a hematologist.
