A member asked:

Is diffuse brain atrophy common in old age? how does it affect normal life?

Yes, but see below: As we age, we all lose brain size and slowly atrophy, but typically has minimal effects. If brain size rapidly declines, can be associated with alzheimer's disease, or other problems with cognition. Memory, focus concentration, and organizational skills can decline. Not the same with normal aging.

Yes: Very common. It sometimes has no effect at all. It sometimes is associated with alzheimers. It depends on your gebetics and the distribution of the atrophy.
