Depends...: ...On how you define "recover". 2 weeks off work. 1 month to feel "normal", energy wise. 3 months before you can do full abdominal work-outs again.

2weeks 99%ADLs: In the average patient who is at their ideal body weight and undergoing a typical tummy tuck, 90 % will be able to return to their activities of daily living with only the intermittent need for pain medication. Activities such as jogging, weight lifting, exercising, golfing, tennis, etc may take longer periods of restriction and recovery. As always discuss with your surgeon.

Depends...: Although tummy tuck surgery is a great operation for the right patient, it is often associated with significant physical and emotional recovery that is underestimated by both patients and their surgeons. I asked patients to plan on a 4 to 6 weeks period of rest and decreased activity. It usually takes several months before patients are back to 100% of their energy level… Best wishes.

2-3 weeks: My patients generally return to work in 2 weeks and earlier if they have an office type job. The Healing process is longer 6-8 weeks, but you will feel better before then. Areas treated with liposuction may be sore or even a little swollen for a longer period. Patients usually describe a Csection or Hysterectomy as much worse to recover from. Hope that helps. Good luck!

Tummy tuck recovery: To fully recuperate from a "regular" abdominoplasty (muscle tightening, skin/fat removal, belly button repositioning) it takes 6-8 weeks. That does not mean you are "out" for that long. You may start to resume much of your normal life after 2 weeks. Do not plan on heavy lifting for about 2-4 weeks.
