About 2 weeks, but..: Because a very important part of the operation is suturing the rectus muscles together in the midline, patients cannot do any heavy lifting for 6 weeks after this procedure. Other activities can be resumed as tolerated.

Tummy Tuck Recovery: You would need a minimum of 2 weeks off from work, returning to part-time, light-duty on the 3rd week. You should not drive for a minimum of 3 weeks, and ideally 4 weeks.
