Follow MD instructin: In most instances this is initiated about 3 weeks after surgery and worn about 12 hours a day for 4-9 months. If can be tedious and compliance is therefore very low but the scientific evidence to support it is strong. Watch for signs of skin maceration or fungal infection. Hygiene is important. Avoid sun, tobacco, tension and excessive inflammation as well.

Apply to scar...: Beginning about 3 weeks post op. Wear for 12 + hours per day. I usually recommend a topical product that looks like a chap-stick. You put it on twice a day, and it's just as effective as wearing the silicone sheeting, but more convenient. It's called pro-sil, by biodermis.

Ask Surgeon.: Your plastic surgeon will guide you when it comes to incision line after tummy tuck surgery. The use of silicone sheeting is quite simple with the sheeting placed over the incision line and changed periodically. Best wishes.

Try BioCorneum: I have been using biocorneum cream on my practice. It is a silicone based wound cream. I have seen great results in my patients who use it.
