Not Usually: Only minimally unless it's completely uncontrolled (bp > 180 for the top number or >110 for the bottom number).

YES: Yes hypertension is something you should be concerned with when having dental surgery. If you think you have hypertension i would recommend you monitor it at home and have the dental professional take it before any dental treatment. At least once a month I have not done dental treatment on a patient that has hypertension. Hope this helps, johndds.Com.

Possibly: Depending on the classification of hypertension you have, it could be a very big problem, especially if uncontrolled. If your hypertension is minor, i doubt your doctor will have any concerns. If your hypertension is moderate or uncontrolled, your surgeon will follow a particular protocol and possibly request a physician consult prior to surgery to decrease chances of a hypertensive crisis.
