Can a chiari malformation aggravate hypertension. i have both of these, and currently see a cardiologist. he is not familiar with chairi. i had surgery for chiari over 10 years ago with no hypertension.

Hypertension: Hi, usually not. Chiari malformations can lead to intracranial hypertension, meaning the pressures inside the skull remain higher than they should. However it is not usually associated with systemic hypertension. I would think these are two separate processes and are not related.
