No: Conventional root canal treatment involves cleaning and filling the spaces inside one's tooth. This type of procedure should not affect your lips or jaw. If you already have an advanced infection you may have involvement of your lips or jaw in the form of pain, swelling or numbness. You must see a dental professional immediately for treatment of a dental infection.

Root canal: I really don't quite understand the question. Are you asking are there any negative effects of roots canals on the jaws or lips? I have never heard of a root canal adversely effecting the jaw or lips. Root canals can fail and cause pain and swelling, but this can be treated by extraction, apical surgery, or root canal retreatment.
