Root canal jaw pain: Your jaw may hurt from the surgical root canal procedure, or from an infection or abscess. You don't mention how long it's been since the root canal. Pain is uncommon after a few days. If it's been longer, return to see the dentist who did the root canal and determine if there's a problem. You may need to see an endodontist in consultation. Good luck!

Infection vs TMJ: Not all root canals are successful. Follow up with the dentist. When performing root canals on posterior teeth, you mouth must be stretched widely. Sometimes the jaw joint becomes painful. May require treatment. Ask your dentist.
