Heat, Meds: Mild back discomfort after an epidural block is not uncommon and is self-limited. Warm compresses, a heating pad, or mild analgesics....If not contraindicated...(ibuprofen, asa, etc.) may help. It's best, however, to speak with your provider and find out if there were any unusual problems during the procedure or further needed work-up.
