Good if used early: Before a cavity progresses to the state of needing repair, it exists as a decalcification. Visually these appear as white chalky areas of tooth often near the gum line or as incipient caries on an xray that has affected the enamel minimally but not yet progressed to the underlying dentin. Mi paste can sometimes re-calcify these lesions preventing their progression to repairable cavities.

MI Paste: Mi paste is effective for spots that are decalcification (white or brown) that the enamel has not formed properly. It does not necessarity prevent cavities or get rid of them.

Doesn't: Mi paste will not get rid of cavities. It is made to help remineralize weak enamel before it cavitates. The only way to eliminate a cavity is to have a dentist fill it.
