See Your Dentist: Tooth decay will not heal itself. If it is not too deep, then a simple removable of the decayed part of the tooth and a filling will work. Deeper decay may damage the pulp with the nerves inside the tooth and root canal therapy may be needed. Brushing twice daily with a toothpaste containing Fluoride can help remineralize shallow decay and prevent new decay from starting.

Teeth: You cannot get rid of a cavity. That is why you need a dentist. If the cavity is real small then you can discuss with a dentist about a type of tooth paste called mi paste which can reverse the cavity but only if it's small enough. Otherwise, the dentist will need to fill the cavity. A cavity is a hole in your tooth.
