How do you treat bleeding gums?

Improved oral hygien: Is a baseline. Invest in an oral b triumph mechanical toothbrush and a waterpik ultra unit and use it regularly ( brushing well at least twice a day and waterpik at night prior to brushing ). Also make sure you are brushing your tongue. Make sure you are visiting your dentist for checkups and treatment as needed. Use interdental picks during the day to stimulate the gums. It is a slow process.

Dental cleaning : A good cleaning and proper home care w/ brushing and flossing solves most bleeding problems. Rarely, certain hormonal conditions or medical conditions can cause this even w/ good home care.In these cases your m. D. Needs to work in consult w/your dentist. A periodontist is best to treat complex cases.

See dentist: See your dentist to determine the cause of the bleeding gums: inflammation from tartar, gum disease, medication, medical condition, etc. Until your appointment, ramp up your hygiene , rinse with mouthwash, hot salt water, or peroxide, eat good diet and possibly multivitamins. Get adequate sleep. Take care.
