A member asked:

Is multiple sclerosis and sarcoidosis one and the same?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not at all: However, when considering the diagnosis of multiple sclerosis, one might consider that sarcoidosis could mimic some of the ms presentation. These are very different disorders, with sarcoid affecting the lung over 90% of cases, and the liver close to 70%, but ms never these organs. An ace test can rule out sarcoid. An ms diagnosis may involve a bit more investigation.
