Other meds: You may be developing copd/emphysema if this is a chronic condition. You may want to see your physician and discuss other options for medications to improve your lung function and improve your breathing long term. Quitting smoking is also very important and there are medications that can assist with quitting.

Stop smoking: I am sure I am not the first one to tell you that. You can check spirometry with your doctor and see if you need more inhalers, or a chest x-ray to make sure you don't have cancer or any other reason for your cough but bottom line is - smokers cough.
