Can holding a cough in and not coughing when i need to cough cause breathing problems? at times i dont cough when i need to cough, and at times i feel like i could cough but i dont. could this cause shortness of breath and breathing problems?

cough is when the respiratory system tries to get rid of any irritation- infection, foreign body, irritant etc So to suppress it is abnormal. Just nature do its thing and do not suppress it. It will not cause any of the things you mention
