How long is the period after orthopedic surgery can an infection develop?

Anytime: Infections usually take three days to develop after surgery. However, if there are implants placed, especially total joit replacements, infections can occur years later from direct inoculation or from the blood stream spreading from an infection alsewhere.(sinus infection).
