Contamination @the-: - time of surgery either by the staff os blood born from a boil or infection somewhere else in your body,7-10 days. If a replacement, there is always a chance that the avascular space between prosthetic component & bone or cement & bone gets infected from things like urinary infection or tooth cleaning. These late infections can come @ any time, that's why you should report to your ortho about any
