The most common issues include altered feeling, infection, hematoma (bleeding), widening or thickening of the scars, wound separation, and asymmetry. Your surgeon should be able to tell you his/her statistics with regards to these complications.

Few: Small areas of incision line healing problems can occur after breast lifting surgery. These usually heal without long-term sequelae. However, sometimes these scar in this area maybe wide and patients may benefit from scar revision surgery long-term. Wound healing problems may be associated with more serious problems such as infection or breast implant exposure. Careful follow up important.

Most incisions: Heal well. But scars always have the potential to become thick & red, or wide-spread. Incisions can separate, especially at "the t" intersection of an anchor-style lift. And there's always the chance of a wound infection or a painful scar.

Healing is healing: In general incisons heal better than other cuts. They are made precisely, with minimal trauma to the surrounding skin and under sterile conditions. Breast lift scars are closed under tension so can be wide, red or raised. Risks of infection and bleeding can also occur.
