Yes: Time is needed to stabilize the psychosis, make sure treatments are working, and determine whether someone is functioning well enough to go back to work.

Yes: Psychosis is serious illness and it is recommended that person should be given time off to recover. Your psychiatrist could help you with that request. There are federal laws such as fmla to protect patients.
