See specialist: There are many treatments for eye allergies. Medications are one way but you have to take them daily. Allergy shots are the closest to permanently get rid of your eye allergies. An allergist can help determine cause of your eye symptoms and see if you are a candidate.

Easy things first: If this is truly an allergic reaction, one should consider oral anti-histamines. Benadryl (diphenhydramine) works well but might make you drowsy otherwise one can try allegra, claritin, or zyrtec. If one already has a nasal steroid spray perscribe (like fluticasone) that can help a bit as can a nasal anti-histamine spray. If this is a recurring event, a visit to an allergist will be helpful.
