Itchy, swollen eyes: Seasonal allergies often are responsible for red, swollen, itchy eyes that tear a lot. There are anti-histamine eyedrops available over the counter at pharmacies that can help. They should be started a week or so before the known allergy season and continued every day until the season is well over.
