Why do i need physical therapy before my knee surgery?

Strengthening: You want to have as much muscle mass and strength prior to surger as possible. You also want as much joint mobility as possible. Thise will put you ahead after the surgery and the rebuilding of the knee function.

Prehab: The most important focus of the "pre-hab" stage prior to surgery is on your range of motion, quadriceps strength and hamstring flexibility. Your surgeon may suggest formalized physical therapy to assist in these exercise progressions.
