Does a high grade partial tear or the medial retinaculum in the knee require surgery or is physical therapy a better option?

Therapy 1st: If u have dislocated your patella and injured the medial patellofemoral ligament( retinaculum) then physical therapy to strengthen the quads is a good first choice. If your patella continues to 'slip' or dislocate despite aggressive vmo strengthening/patellar brace then see a board certified ors . Surgical procedures ( including repair/ reconstruction of mpfl) can be discussed. Gl!
