Antihistamines: Try Cetirizine or dextromethorphan. If you have tried these then it is time to see your doctor. Please take your child to his/her pediatrician.

Be sure your child: Is taking asthma medications (controller and rescue inhalers) as prescribed. If only taking them as needed, this will cause patient to continually cough. Your child may be suffering from allergies too. Regardless , it is time to bring your child in to see physician if you have tried meds and cough persisted this far out.
