Swollen gums: Swelling or inflammation is usually an indication that there is an infection or trauma. This is a concern that must be assessed by your dentist who then may help you appropriately address the concern.

Swollen gums: Generally denote some form of inflammation and localized infection. Can be for numerous reasons. If you practice good to excellent oral hygiene then the causes may be different than if you don't. In any event, practice good oral hygiene and consult a dentist if you haven't been to see one. In the interim do warm salt water rinses or get some peroxyl rinse from your local drug store. Good luck.
