Depends: The recovery time depends on the severity of the injury. However the facial area heals rather rapidly and I would expect the swelling to subside in less than a week in most cases unless it is infected.

Depends: Depends on severity and location of the injury. After 48 to 72 hours swelling should start to go down, and your child should be a little less swollen every day thereafter. Important: 1) Take all meds, especially antibiotics, exactly as directed...don't quit part way through the dose. 2)Take your child to Dentist to evaluate for tooth/bone fractures and to monitor tooth nerve vitality.
