A member asked:

Why do optometrists use sticky eyedrops during an exam?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

To anesthetize eye: The drops themselves are not sticky but they cause the eye to feel that way. They are used to anesthetize the eye in order to check the pressure inside your eye which is a test for glaucoma.
