See below: Cut and file smooth the finger nails. Topical anti itch creams include 1% hydrocortisone, calamine or Benadryl cream. If truly red, swollen and itchy-a night time dose of oral antihistamine can be given to assist with the symptoms/swelling. Benadryl syrup/diphenhydramine is a choice at 2.5ml at night. (drowsy side effects are common).
