If there is an infection under the skin that has opened and is draining, do you still need antibiotics?

Depends on : Where it is located and how long it has been there. Is the infection resolving, getting worse or staying the same? I would see my md/dermatologist and get a diagnosis then the appropriate treatment which may or may not include antibiotic therapy.
