A member asked:

What should i do about pain after cortisone injection to ankle joint?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Steroid flare: I always inform my patients that cortisone injections have possible side effects including a steroid flare. This is characterized by pain following a steroid injection. This normally resolves in 1-2 days and can be treated with simple things like ice, elevation and restricted weightbearing. If the pain persists i would contact your doctor since many other things can cause pain.
