Bunion prevention: Wear footwear with adequate space for toes; thus avoid pointed toed shoes which press the toes (especially the big one) out of line. Also, avoid high heels as often as possible as they put all the body weight on the base of toes/heads of the metatarsals & squeeze the toes together in those pointy shoes.

Good luck!: Prevention options include the use of bunion toe spacers, strapping, orthoces, and use of more comfortable shoes.

Preventative: Some preventative measures for getting bunions are orthotic wear, wider but correct sized shoes for the individual. Avoiding shoegear that might stress the big toe to the 1st mpj.
