Also: To add to dr. Creighton's answer, fees tend to be dependent on area. A park avenue (nyc) bunionectomy is way more expensive than, say, a mobile alabama bunionectomy. If there is a teaching hospital near you, they may be able to offer you a good deal, since the residents are looking for cases in such places.
