I wouldn't: Dremel tools can cause high torque and if the sandpaper or head is not fine enough, cut through the nail and into deeper tissue. Leave that care to your podiatrist! i have seen some nasty self-inflicted harm from patient's attempting care i provide at home.

If that was the : Recommendation of the doctor, ask him which model and if they can give you proper instruction. Keep in mind, make sure the doc approves the burr you are using. ( there is a company that is coming out this year with a tool specifically for this purpose. Think of a drexel but specifically for the purpose you mention. It will be safer as it is geared specifically for. Can't recall the name now, .

May case an injury: You have a good chance of causing more harm than good. You may injury your nail and skin and may develop an infection as the dremel bits are not sterile like the ones we have in the office.
