Thers is a solution: Ssi or any antidepressants can cause nightmars for any age.. #1 if night mares persist change the meications. #2 if you really like your ssri meds, then ask for benzodiazepines, somewhat long acting such as valium or Klonopin before sleep. Also Restoril (temazepam) or Dalmane can be equally effective especially if you suffer from insomnia.

Yes: Prazosin or Minipress (prazosin) is excellent for nightmares combined with insomnia. Although it is an antihypertensive, it it used off -label for sleep. It is safe, effective & inexpensive. It is often used in veterans who have sleep problems related to combat post traumatic stress disorder. Good luck.

Keep a diary of things that happen to you during the day. Your dreams might correlate with the events in your life. Address it with a professional to tackle your nightmares along with medications for best results.
