Depends: If the fracture is small then it is a one day surgery where you can go home later that same day. If it is a large fracture or other structures are affected then you may be in the hospital for a few days or longer. It really depends on the extent of the fracture.

Day Surgery: Most likely a day surgical procedure, but your surgeon may want to observe you overnight.

Same day surgery: "blowout fracture" is a fracture of the orbital floor. The procedure is fairly simply. The lower eyelid is retracted and the eye itself is also retracted and protected. An incision is made on the inside of the lower eyelid behind the lower eyelid muscle and in front of the septum of the eyelid. The orbital rim in identified and the floor is exposed and reconstructed with an implant. Recovery 1wk.
