Pharmacologically: The first anesthetic has an amide hydrophilic link on the hydrocarbon chain, the other has an ester link. They both have lipophilic rings which are "unsaturated!" tmi? Sorry! the first requires lower dosing, has a longer duration, but a shorter onset, of action. Both have different indications for use, pathways of metabolism, absorption and distribution...So, a lot! like more specifics? Fire away.
