Not listen?: Your psychiatrist does need to listen before trying to diagnose you, because that's the main way one can learn what's happening with another person. Even then, diagnoses can be incomplete or wrong. Sometimes also, the nature of one's mental illness impacts insight -- so that you don't perceive what others are perceiving in you. If not feeling heard, you can see someone else for a second opinion.

Ask?: Why don't you ask him or her that question? It is difficult to understand your question without more details. Ask your doctor the questions you have. Insist he or she listen to your concerns or find a new doctor.
