Fat & hyaluronic aci: There are countless options out there but most of them cause horrible consequences. In my opinion there are only two options: your own fat and hyaluronic acid based products like juvederm and perlane (dermal fillers).

Many options.: The simplest option is an injectable hyaluronic acid filler. These will last around a year. For possible longer-term effects, consider fat grafting but this is less predictable as the fat may not survive the transfer and because of the use of larger needles, there tends to be more swelling. For longer term/larger lips, implants of gortex or silicone can be placed but may feel firm or be extruded.

Lip Aug Options: Lips can be augmented with biologic tissue fillers (dermal fillers), synthetic implants, or your own fat. Implants are permanent, as is a fat transfer, though fat graft does not survive as well in the lips as it does in other areas of the body. Biologic tissue fillers, such as Restylane and Juvederm last anywhere from 4 to 6 months.
