Exam: Most likely you have an infection on the tooth. See your dentist as soon as possible so they can make the right diagnosis.

Infection: Could be a tooth infection. Swelling can occur by the tonsil area. Sometimes inflammation is not seen around the tooth as the infection can be deep into the floor of the mouth, underneath the side of the tongue spreading into the throat. See a dentist asap.

Nerve issue: It could possibly be a nerve related issue in a tooth, best to get an evaluation with a dentist before the infection becomes more advanced.

By far the most common cause of toothache is infection. You can’t fix this yourself. You need professional care, but I’m sure you already know that. Please see a Dentist immediately for infection control.
