Need to remove stone: Though it may not require surgery. Presence of stone predisposes one to kidney infection. Most stones can be pulverized by sound waves, lithotripsy, and the small fragments then pass out with urine. Please consult your doctor for treatment of the stone to prevent damage to your kidney.

See a urologist: Stones can be a source of recurrent urinary infection, and if all other causes for infection are ruled out, the stone should be removed.
