No: If this was a surgery done through your back to remove the stones, it is very common to leave a tube into the kidney to allow the urine to drain out and the bleeding to stop as well as the swelling to go down. It is not painful to remove this tube.

Here are some ...: The described tube is called stent to help ureteral healing and urine drainage, and usually kept in for 1-3 weeks for individual need for healing and safety. Its removal can be done easily and safely under local anesthesia with flexible cystoscope to pull it out. Most patients tolerates such procedures very well, and it's not worth to be done under sleep. Ask Doc for detail timely.
