Serious now: If still symptomatic 6 months after what was felt to be an ankle sprain, it is likely that the injury was not just a minor sprain. Ballet is extremely demanding on ankles. A professional evaluation is probably appropriate now especially if continued ballet is important to you.

Depends: If your ankle feels 100%, you have full pain-free motion, full strength, you can do desired level of physical activity-most likely you are ok. If the ankle is still painful, catches, swells, gives out, feels weak or wobbly or unstable or loose, has limited motion, does not feel 100%, get it evaluated--you could have a more serious injury that needs treatment to avoid future problems. Good luck.

Perhaps: If you are still having pain or other issues with the ankle do have it checked out. Arthritis can result from an ankle injury.

Possibly...: Chronic problems can result for from an unresolved ankle sprain. Problems such as ankle instability, or cartilage damage are possibilities. It is important for you to be seen by an orthopedic foot and ankle surgeon. One in your area can be found at www.Aofas.Org.
