Physical therapy: Possibly a stress fracture, and you need to have rest, and it may be the result of too much rest and no physical therapy, now with atrophied muscle that is being stretched. there are many variables to consider. It is important to rule out and type of broken bone/stress fracture, and consider physical therapy to get you back to 100%. See an orthopedist, if no need for cast, get script for PT!

5 months: Is a long time. I would recommend an MRI to better evaluate. However, a good clinician should know what they are suspecting on the clinical exam.
